The Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition (RHSC) is a global partnership of more than 400 public, private, and non-governmental organizations dedicated to ensuring that all people in low- and middle-income countries can choose, obtain, and use affordable, high-quality supplies and related services to ensure their better reproductive health. Our Brussels-based Secretariat is staffed and managed by PATH, an international, nonprofit organization that helps communities around the world break longstanding cycles of poor health. The Secretariat also includes staff based at PATH’s offices in Washington, DC, Lima and Dakar.
In June 2011, the Coalition established a regional forum to contribute to the assurance of reproductive health commodity security in Francophone Africa. That forum, entitled SECONAF (Sécurité Contraceptive en Afrique Francophone) today comprises a diverse network of partners comprising of more than 550 members from public, private and non-governmental organizations from 44 countries. Like the Coalition, the SECONAF’s work cuts across multiple sectors including advocacy, systems strengthening, human resource development and market dynamics.
SECONAF is looking for a dynamic leader who can take the Forum into its next phase as its Regional Advisor. Guided by a newly-developed strategic plan, SECONAF is well-positioned to increase its role in the region as an organization that is able to break down the silos and connect the dots within the supplies arena. With the recent the appointment of a new Executive Committee President, who also now sits as the Francophone Africa representative on the RHSC Executive Committee, the connection to the RHSC and its global membership will grow in the years to come. In October 2017, the reproductive health community will turn its collective attention to Senegal, where the 18th General Membership Meeting of the RHSC will be held. This is an opportunity to highlight SECONAF’s work in the region and for the new Regional Advisor to start his/her new position with momentum.
